A curfew, (noun); is an order specifying a time during which certain regulations apply. I.e.by a gorean city or owners of slaves to return home by a specific time, usually in the evening or night. Also used as an order issued by the public authorities or military insurgents requiring everyone or certain people to be indoors at certain times. Often rings a curfew bar as a signal for the citizens that the curfew begin or end.
We reached the shop of Epicrates well before the bar signifying the end of curfew. In another Ahn or so, some of the smaller gates would open, and many Peasants, with their baskets and sacks of fresh produce, would begin to make their way to the various markets in the city.
